FC Europa COVID Information

Updated Order from PA Gov office ; Universal face coverings -

As from November 18th 2020, all Staff , parents and participants will be required to wear masks at all times during FC Europa and TEYSA activities.

This supercedes the previous order that allowed players to play without a face covering - masks will now be required at all times, except for water breaks,  'mask' breaks  and when medical attention is required.

The only exception will be if a player has a medical condition that might be exacerbated from wearing a mask during physical exercise (eg respiratory issues ) - in these cases we will require documentation to qualify the athlete for an exemption.

These new measures come into effect immediately and include indoor and outdoor practice as well as League and Tournament play.

Thanks you for your cooperation as we continue to fight this virus, while maintaining the health benefits that our program

Specific COVID questions and/or concerns should be directed to Kevin Halliday,  .

As always, we will continue to work in line with the recommendations and guidance of our state association, and to ensure the safety of our players, coaches and parents.

For persons who have symptoms or have been exposed to someone with COVID, follow the FC Europa Exposure Protocol.

EPYSA Statement - (11/18/2020)

As we have done over the course of the last 9 months, Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer will continue to provide the most up to date information from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and how it will directly affect the remainder of our soccer season. Other advisories have been issued by our neighboring states that may also affect our sport through the end of 2020.

On November 17, Secretary of Health, Dr. Levine issued an order requiring anyone who visits from another state to have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to entering the commonwealth. If someone cannot get a test or chooses not to, they must quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvanians visiting other states are required to have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to their return to the commonwealth or to quarantine for 14 days upon return to Pennsylvania. This order takes effect on Friday, November 20, 2020.

In addition, the universal masking order was updated as well, and now states that masks must be worn by athletes if they cannot maintain physical distancing from persons outside of their household. This includes while actively engaged in workouts, competition and on the sidelines. This now means, players must wear cloth or disposable masks while playing during practice and games. This order is now in effect as of 12:01 AM this morning. As a reminder, gaiters, neck warmers, plastic shields or other personal protective equipment could be considered dangerous and not be worn as per previously issued FIFA guidelines.

Delaware, New Jersey and Maryland have issued various orders as well. They range from recommendations of non-essential travel to prohibiting travel altogether; prohibiting out of state teams and limiting play to within state borders only.

Essentially, this limits play to in-state only, be it a tournament or league play. Everyone has done a tremendous job of enforcing protocols and complying with state and local orders. Since August, all clubs and its members have acted responsibly and in the best interests of the children and each other. Our board and staff thank you for your diligence and your vigilance that allowed the children to enjoy playing soccer this season.

For most, this is the traditional end to the season. It’s been a privilege to have been able to play this fall and make it this far. We have this much to be thankful for. Please continue to be vigilant for the remainder of this season and stay healthy for when we return to the fields in the spring.
